Torre del Lago Puccini
This town stands amongst green hillsides on Lake Massaciuccoli and extends as far as the coast where there is a fine sandy beach. Its name is clearly a tribute to Giacomo Puccini, one of the greatest Italian composers of all time. Puccini came to live in a villa on the lake in 1891 and the house remains as it was at the time of the composer’s death in 1924. The beauty of Lake Massaciuccoli inspired Puccini and is the natural habitat of many bird species. It can be visited by boat.
