Description
An original fiefdom administered in ancient times by the bishopric of Belluno and later fortified. Its topography reflects the former activity of extracting iron ore and then working this metal. Located in the middle Zolda Valley, on slopes that overhang the confluence

of the Pramper and Areson Rivers, it is surrounded by the Dolomite groups of Agordine and Zoldane. Today it is a tranquil holiday town and a health resort. In the summer season it is an excellent base of departure for hikes in the surrounding area, or mountain climbing on the peaks of Mount Pelmo (3168) or Mount Cislope (3218 m). The ski area is adapted above all to cross-country skiing, thanks to two trails of different length and difficulty: “Pralongo,” a rather demanding track of 10 km, and “Campo,” a circuit of 1 km furnished with illumination for night skiing. The downhill slopes, served by 1 ski-lift, are suited only to beginners.
To see, the 15th-century parish church of S. Floriano, flanked by an 18th-century bell-tower.
