  8/15/99 Re:Amalfi Coast (jdagosti)
I just retured from the Amalfi Coast Aug, 12, 1999 Let me know what your price expectations are and if your are fit to walk up and down stair and great distances. Amalfi Coast Hotels are nothing like you will find in America. The coast is rugged and hotels are small. I will give you more info when you let me know what you expect.
  8/26/99 Re:Amalfi Coast (David Bowles)
I am also planning to spend a week in the Amalfi area in October this year. I would like to spend the time in a smaller town, slightly away from the coast, perhaps. I am hoping to spend most days sitting in the town centre piazza, eating pasta and drinking red wine, with the occasional trip to the coast and Naples. Can you suggest a suitable town/village. Many thanks, David Bowles

7/26/99 Omnia s.r.l. Ville in Italia--Casa del Pittore (Carey Thorpe)
I am renting a villa in amalfi from the real estate company listed--(omnia s.r.l.) Part of doing that is wiring the money to a bank account. I asked if I could use my credit card and that was not acceptable. I guess I'm worried that this is a legitimate company. Has anyone used this company before? Or better yet stayed in this particular villa? Any information would be welcome. I know I'm probably being paranoid and untrusting, but I thought I should check. Thanks for any help.

  7/24/99 Re:Rimini (John Cavicchi)
Don't bother. It's a hellhole and all you see on the beach is a forest of umbrellas.
7/22/99 Cooking school or trekking tour (John Cavicchi)
Looking for a cooking school or trekking tour anywhere in Italy.
8/25/99 Re:Cooking school or trekking tour (Linda)
I took cooking lessons last March in Tuscany. It was arranged for me by Catherine Merrill of The International Kitchen(internationalkitchen.com) located in Chicago. You can take daily lessons only, buy a package tour, whatever to suit your needs. Daily lessons are min. 2 persons US$150. We had a ball with it! Recommend Claudio Piantini at Torre Guelfa in Figline Valdarno, 20 min train ride from Florence.
