2/25/00 Corresponding In Italian (Sharon Corske)
|
| |
I am planning a vacation in Italy soon and we have been taking conversational Italian for the last 2 semesters. I also know my father's side of the family is from Italy, and would like to find more information regarding the family name of Constantino. We will be in the Tuscany area and want to do some wine tasting, take a cooking class and tour the parmigian factory. I would like to try to correspond in Italian, if someone is willing. |

My wife and I are currently taking Italian lessons. We are planning a trip to Italy next year. I would like to try corresponding with you in Italian. Be forwarned that the spoken word and the written word are not as beneficial to each other as we may think. Let's give it a try. Ron Bonazza |

|
| |
My wife and i will be attending the Proposte 2000 slk tradeshow this May 3,4 & 5th. The exhibition will be at the Villa Erba di Cernobbio (Como province). We are looking for a homestay or B & B , or villa nearby that someone could recommend. We are seasoned travelers NOT needing "American" pampering, but a true Italian experience. Afterwards to Bourdoux, France for a week to visit a friend, and then back down to Tuscany for another week of R & R. All this will be by train. Any help or suggestions would be most welcome. Of course the sooner the better! Ciao. |

2/15/00 Italian Hotel Ratings (Betsy Donlon)
|
| |
I am not certain whether stars are given on basis of amenities and location (as in France) or on basis of quality of the facilities. We are trying to find a very small, charming but not fancy, obviously clean and comfortable hotel with room views and balconies on the Amalfi Coast. We are focussing on Ravello as that seems to be off the beaten path. Will appreciate any input. (Also, is there a source for objective reviews of various hotels?) |

2/13/00 Parma and vicinity (Steve)
|
| |
We have previously traveled to Sta. Marghuerita Ligure, Florence, and Venice and were delighted beyond expectations--especially by Venice. We would like to return to Italy and I have heard that Parma is a wonderful center of culture and cuisine. Can anyone offer comments and recommendations for Parma and the surrounding area as well as other localities in adjacent regions that could reasonably be included if we travel by train for up to 2 weeks. Grazia. |

I am planning a trip to Sta Margherita and Parma myself. If you have any information as to what to see and where to stay, perhaps also in Cinque Terre. I would appreciate it. Ada |
