Le prime notizie della Locanda Sturion, risalgono alla fine del 1200 quando, sopra l’arcatura di calle dello Sturion si affacciava sul Canal Grande la casa - albergo omonima, voluta dal Doge di Venezia per ospitare i mercanti stranieri che venivano a portare le loro merci al mercato di Rialto.
Oggi è un piccolo hotel di 3 stelle recentemente ristrutturato, situato nel sestiere piú antico della cittá, nel centro storico-culturale, affacciato sul Canal Grande e sul Ponte di Rialto, a pochi passi dal pittoresco mercato del pesce di Rialto.
L’hotel è facilmente raggiungibile con il vaporetto dal parcheggio del Tronchetto, dal terminal degli autobus Piazzale Roma e dalla stazione ferroviaria Santa Lucia.
Le 11 camere sono arredate in stile veneziano e dotate di bagno privato, telefono, Tv color Sat., minibar, cassetta di sicurezza, filodiffusione, aria condizionata ed asciugacapelli. Alcune camere sono molto ampie e particolarmente adatte a nuclei famigliari, altre, sono state recentemente arredate con damaschi e tappezzerie di pregio e, riservate a clienti non fumatori. A disposizione dei nostri ospiti, una piccola biblioteca con guide e testi su storia ed arte di Venezia, anche in lingua inglese, francese e tedesca.

 Hotel Sturion is first heard of towards the end of l3th century, where above the arch of Calle dello Sturion and overlooking the Gran Canal was the House with the same name which the Doge of Venice had specifically built to suit the comfort of foreign merchants taking their goods to the Market of Rialto.
Now it’s a small 3 star hotel recently renovated, located in the oldest part of the city, in the historic-cultural centre of Venice, overlooking the Gran Canal and the Rialto Bridge it’s a few steps from the open air Rialto fish market.
The hotel can be easily reached by water-bus either from Tronchetto Parking Area, Piazzale Roma Bus Terminal or the Santa Lucia Railway Station, alighting at the Rialto Boat Station.
Our 11 rooms are furnished in Venetian style, some of which are very spacious and particulary suitable for families. The interior in some of our rooms have recently been redecorated with elegant damask wall tapestry; these rooms are reserved for non smoking only. All rooms have private bathroom, direct dial telephone, satellite colour Tv, mini bar, safe box, radio, centralized air conditioning/heating and hair dryer. At our guests disposal, a small library relative to the history and art in Venice with texts and guides also in English, French and German.
