The very beatifull place in Tuscany is Sansepolcro (Arezzo),birth place of Piero della Francesca, very close to the historical cities like Assisi,Urbino Gubbio ,Perugia,Arezzo, Florence, but in central Italy in peacefull country, rich of treking paths and excellent foods and wines.Villa La Castellaccia is my family house, where is possible to spend quite holidays. The B&B is low cost in very ancient house, but very confortable. Please go to visit the villa: http://www.geocities.com/baja/5371 Thanks for your attention Lamberto Aloigi Luzzi

Hello, I was looking for a hotel in Rome last week but instead a priest friend made reservations for me at S Maria alle Fornaci, close to St. Peter's. I wondered if anyone is familar with it. Also what is the best way to get there from Leonardi da Vinci airport and a best was to travel to other areas of Rome. Thanks for your help.
3/23/00 Tourism on Public Holidays (Myron)
Hi, my family is planning on taking a trip to Milan, Venice, Rome, and Pompei from 25 December 2000 to 1 January 2001, and I was wondering if tourist sites are typically closed on public holidays (namely Christmas and New Years). Basically I'm wondering if there will be anything to do on those days while we're there. Also, how is the public transportation system on holidays also -- will we have to find our own transportation or is the metro-rail system going to be operating? Thank you for any information you can give me. Myron

3/20/00 May in Milan and Cinque Terre (Ada)
I am travelling alone to Italy. I want to visit Cinque Terre and Sicily. Also, I need to return from Milan to America. The flight leaves Malpensa at 7 a.m. Is there any hotel that would be safe and close to the Centrale where I believe I can take a bus to the airport. Also any info on Cinque Terre. A hostel close to the train station that might be inexpensive.

3/16/00 Hotel in Rome (Sandi Lazzaro)

I am also open to B & B's keeping in mind that we will be travel in country by train and in city by public transportation and walking. Any suggestions. Need dates: June 8, 9 & 10...it's got to be special...I am celebrating my 50th BD!
  3/16/00 Re:Hotel in Rome (Suzanne)
I stay at a wonderful hotel in Rome called Hotel Locarno. They have a website. Centrally located, near Piazza del Popolo, this is a gorgeous small hotel in true Art Deco style. I think a double now costs about $140 per night US. Another nice hgotel (though not as nice) in the same price range and good location is the Hotel Portoghesi, which is near the Pantheon. Hope this helps.
  3/27/00 Re:Hotel in Rome (Alan)
Hotel Aberdeen at 48 Via Firenze...i am paying 130.000 for me during August...e mail....hotel.aberdeen@travel.it...good luck
4/2/00 Re:Hotel in Rome (Steven Klapp)
I can suggest a WONDERFUL hotel. I would highly suggest the Hotel Kennedy. We paid $138.00 for a triple for a very nice room with airconditioning. The owners and operators speak perfect english (a real treat, trust me here...) and are very helpful in seeing that your stay in Rome is very pleasant. They are located within a 5 minute walk from the main train station (and McDonald's) located in the heart of Rome. webpage -> https://itwg.com/itw12017.asp Do NOT stay at the Hotel California. They fraudulently charged my credit card for a night that I stayed elsewhere and produced a receipt as proof... I hope you have a pleasant trip and I know the Hotel Kennedy help you make it happen!
