The Hotel is situated in the old center of Pisa overlooking the Arno River, only ten minutes away on foot from the Leaning Tower and the Monumental City. The hotel was opened in 1839 by the Piegaja family, and still today the same family is trying to preserve the character and charm of this old building (some sections of which are over 1,000 years old), with its stucco decorations, painted ceilings, antique furniture. In over 150 years we have been honoured by many fine guests, famous artists, historical personalities, scientific celebrities, and it is reductive to mention only a few, but just to give you an idea: Charles Dickens, the Duke of Wellington, Theodore Roosevelt, Marconi, Charles Lindberg, and Emperors, Kings, Queens but, above all... lots of exquisite people !
