La costruzioni risalente al 1566 fu' edificata dalla famiglia Pistofilo in onore di Bonaventura, come attesta la scritta sul portale "Nos fres semper Pistophili". Bonaventura Pistofilo fu umanista, segretario del Duca Alfonso D'Este e amico del grande poeta Ludovico Ariosto che lo ricorda nella sua pił importante opera "L'Orlando furioso" inoltre gli indirizza l'ultima della sette "satire" scritta nel 1524. Nel 1970 viene rinvenuta nella scala interna, posta come gradino una statua stele donata al Museo Civico della Spezia. The house was built in 1566 by the Pistofilo family to honour Bonaventura, as declared in the inscription above the front door "Nos fres semper Pistofili". Bonaventura Pistofilo was a humanistic scholar and the secretary of Duke Alfonso D'Este; he was also a friend of the renowned poet Ludovico Ariosto, who mentioned him in his greatest work, "L'Orlando Furioso", and dedicated him the latest of his seven "Satires", written in 1524. One of the steles now displayed in the Museo Civico of La Spezia was found in 1970 in Bonaventura Pistofilo's house, where it had been used as a step.
